Identities

The story Identities shows how contrast and ironey contribute to the theme of this story. I feel that the story identites shows contrast through sterotypes. When the guy dosnt shave, everyione starts to sterotype him cause they think hes just a criminal or a poor little hoomeless man. And when he crosses into the lower part of town, he uses sterotypes big time because he thinks that since its the poor part of town thats there should be a lott more crime and stuff like that. He just assumes that the ghetto part of town is for losers. when he sees the gang of young men, he assumes that there just a bunch of criminals that are getting into trouble so he gets scared. The police officer is a key example of how stereotypes are formed by fear and discrimination when he was depicted as nervous beacuse of the neighborhood.
The wallet carrying the mans id was the easiest way to prove himself innocent, but it was also the only way to cause his death. that was the ironey of the story. In conclusion i think that there was alott of ironey and contrast in the story " Identities".
